According to statistics from the Brazilian National Electricity Agency (ANEEL), from January to September this year, Brazil's installed power generation capacity increased by 7.8GW, with a total of 219 projects online, of which 90% were wind power and solar photovoltaic power stations.
In September, Brazil added 711.33MW of power generation capacity, including 11 photovoltaic projects, totaling 491.83MW, 117.20MW wind power projects and 102.30MW thermal power plant projects.
According to ANEEL statistics, as of October 1, 2024, Brazil's total power generation capacity in operation and under construction exceeded 205.72GW, of which renewable energy accounted for 84.74%.
According to data from ABSOLAR, the Brazilian Solar Energy Association, as of the end of August 2024, Brazil's cumulative solar photovoltaic installed capacity was 47.03GW, including 15.086GW of distributed power generation projects and 31.94GW of centralized power generation projects.
Brazil also plans to launch the 2024 renewable energy auction in December 2024, with the winning projects set to begin commercial operations in 2028 and 2030.
