Enfinity Global Inc., a leader in renewable energy, has signed long-term financing of up to $195 million (¥29.2 billion) for a 70-megawatt solar power plant in Japan. Located in Aomori Prefecture in northern Japan, this recently completed solar farm is expected to produce more than 75 GWh of clean energy annually, enough to meet 11% of Aomori’s domestic energy needs, or approximately 15,600 homes, and offset 35,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. The Aomori Solar Power Plant has become a successful example of the effective use of bifacial solar panels in one of the snowiest cities in the world.
The newly commissioned solar farm is part of a 250 MW solar PV portfolio owned by Japan’s Enfinity Global, which has established itself as one of the leaders in the industry.
"We are committed to supporting Japan's plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 by leveraging our global capabilities and serving as a long-term investor. We sincerely thank our financing partners Nomura and Aozora for their trust in us." CEO, Enfinity Global Officer Carlos Domenech said. "Japan is at a turning point where clean energy has become a competitive necessity."
"Aozora is pleased to have the opportunity to support Enfinity Global's solar projects in Japan," said Hiroki Nakazato, Managing Director, Environment Business Group. "Aozora will continue to focus on financing to support our customers' initiatives to develop renewable energy and the energy transition towards a carbon-free economy."
