Poland has emerged as Europe's fastest-growing solar market in 2025, with photovoltaic capacity increasing by 48% year-on-year in the first quarter alone. The government's "My Electricity 5.0" subsidy program, offering up to 60% rebates for residential and commercial installations, has driven unprecedented adoption across the country.
Industrial zones are leading the charge, with over 300 MW of new rooftop PV systems installed on factories and warehouses in Q1 2025. The Polish Energy Regulatory Office reports solar now accounts for 22% of the country's total electricity generation during peak daylight hours, up from just 8% in 2022.
With new net-metering regulations taking effect this month and six new PV panel manufacturing plants under construction across the country, analysts predict Poland could surpass 25 GW of installed solar capacity by year-end – triple the 2022 figures. The Energy Ministry confirms this rapid expansion is creating nearly 15,000 new jobs annually in manufacturing, installation, and maintenance sectors.
Poland's solar boom comes as the country accelerates its energy transition, aiming to phase out coal completely by 2035. International investors are taking notice, with over €2 billion in foreign capital flowing into Polish solar ventures so far this year.
